Natasha Monique Harrison, 35, of Myrtle Beach was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Florence for conspiracy to commit bank fraud.
U.S. District Judge R. Bryan Harwell sentenced Harrison to five months in prison with six months home detention, and ordered her to pay $42,000 in restitution.
Evidence presented at the change of plea hearing established that between June and September 2007, $825,739 was fraudulently transferred to this defendant and seven co-conspirators accounts, and $418,538 was withdrawn from the accounts.
Derrick Moore, a co-defendant previously sentenced in this case, recruited people willing to supply him with their personal and banking information so that their bank accounts could be used to deposit funds. The bank accounts were then used to wire money from other people's accounts without those people's knowledge or consent. The defendants would then withdraw the funds that had been wired into their accounts and provide a majority of the money to Moore and retain a portion for themselves.
Harrison received approximately $560 for her involvement in the conspiracy.
