The cold weather didn't stop a Florence woman from a perfect attendance record.

Julia Evans, 61, has never missed a day on the job at Carolinas Hospital System where she's worked for the past 43 years as a diet coordinator.

She couldn't drive to work because of all the ice on the roads, so she hit the pavement to walk the five miles.

A police officer saw her and flagged down a cab driver, who gave Evans a ride the rest of the way.

She was determined to get there come rain, sleet or snow.

She tells NewsChannel 15, "I was scheduled to come and if I'm scheduled to come, I'll be here. Sick or no sick, I'll come."

Evans' supervisor describes her as a dedicated employee, who often puts others before herself.
