Free seminar offers help for online safety and cyber-bullying

NewsChannel 15 & Horry Georgetown Technical College are sponsoring a seminar on social media safety from 10 a.m. until noon, January 15. It will be held at the Burroughs & Chapin Auditorium on the HGTC Conway Campus.

You can learn how to secure personal information online; how to handle cyber-bullying; shortcuts, sites, tips and apps. The seminar will also address the ten commandments for kids online.

Conway native and social media expert Thomas Hughes will lead the seminar. Hughes serves as vice president of worldwide digital media for a major Hollywood studio.

He will be joined by WPDE Chief Meteorologist Ed Piotrowski and Anchor Allyson Floyd.

The seminar is open to the public and advance registration is not required.
