Teens are reshingling roofs, fixing floors and repairing plumbing on eight Florence homes.
Fifty teenagers from Central United Methodist Church and Pisgah United Methodist Church in Florence are working in a project called Santahatchie. They're reshingling roofs, fixing floors and repairing plumbing on eight Florence homes.
The churches have partnered in this project for about eight years.
The teens say they enjoy learning the art of carpentry and the entire experience has taught them a lot about character. The teenagers say they've learned the real meaning of helping others in need.
They plan to wrap up work on the homes this week.
