(AP) -- There may not be casino boats cruises from North Charleston as soon as expected.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reports Wednesday that delays like setting up a parking lot to handle customers could mean the cruises won't start until February at the earliest. Officials had originally hoped to be cruising by January.

Palmetto Casino Cruz Inc. and Diamond Casino Cruz II Inc. applied for operating licenses after North Charleston City Council approved the cruises earlier this year.

Diamond Casino Cruz president Al Shuman says he hopes to join forces with Palmetto Casino Cruz until the companies have a better idea about traffic and demand.

Shuman says he still plans to hold a February job fair to fill about 100 positions including bartenders and waitresses.
