The man who caused an accident because he was driving the wrong way on Highway 501 Thursday has died.
The accident happened on the 501 overpass of Forestbrook Drive in the beach-bound lane.
Horry County Coroner Robert Edge says Scott W. Golden, 34, of Myrtle Beach died Friday morning at Grand Strand Regional Hospital.
Highway Patrol says Golden was driving the wrong way and hit an on-coming car before slamming into the cement barrier.
