You have the chance to help our servicemen and women serving overseas, and all you have to do is donate socks.
Members of the Post 186 American Legion Riders were at our Conway studio Monday promoting their Socks for Soldiers drive. You can donate socks from 10:00 a.m. To 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Myrtle Beach Harley Davidson store near Surfside Beach.
The socks will be sent to Marines serving in the mountains of Afghanistan. Organizers say it's a small cost and takes little time to do something for those who give so much. "It's hard to believe in today's time especially, these men are doing what's asked of them and serving our country and so something so simple to keep their feet warm - they are having a hard time getting," said Joe DiPasqua, a U.S. Army veteran.
If you want to donate to the Socks for Soldiers drive, the socks must be men's sized 9 to 12 black, grey or brown with cushioned soles.
