Two men who filed protests regarding the Florence School District One school board race have taken their fight to the U.S. Justice Department.
Last month, Terry James and Thurmond Becote filed a protest to the Florence County Election Commission. The candidates asked for a new election, citing voting irregularities due to zoning changes in the district.
The State Election Commission upheld the ruling made by the local commission saying the election was fair.
NewsChannel 15 was told James and Becote have now asked the U.S. Justice Department to take a look at their protest to determine if a new election should be ordered.
