A group that tries to keep drugs and alcohol out of the hands of children and teenagers thanked those who support them today.
The Florence County Coalition for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Prevention held a luncheon for its members and law enforcment.
The group says because of their efforts, fewer high school students are turning to drugs and alcohol.
"We directly attribute that to the work that this coalition and the law enforcement has worked on so much in the last four and five years with our alcohol prevention efforts," said Dawn Hancock, with the organization.
The survey shows Florence students were below the national average in use of alcohol, cigarettes and marijuana.
