The frigid temperatures claimed a life of an elderly man in the capitol city.
Police say they discovered an 80-year-old man's body under the Blossom Street Bridge in Columbia on Friday.
Harold Kenneth James apparently died from hypothermia after temperatures plummeted.
James wandered off last week from the senior citizen home he lived in.
Police say he suffered from dementia. They say he used to be homeless and may have been familiar with the area where he was found.
