Learning how to safely surf the internet was the lesson for parents and their kids Thursday night.

The South Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force held an information session at Myrtle Beach High School.

The goal of the session was to teach the importance of web site blockers, as well as knowing what your kids are looking while on internet.

Debbie Jumper, a parent who attended the event, says, "Technology is so advanced, and us as parents have to keep ahead of the curve so that we are in sync with our children."

Speakers included Myrtle Beach Police Investigator Milton Adams and Horry County Sheriff's Sergeant Lori Avant.
