(AP) -- Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich will be the featured guest at a Christmas fundraiser for the Spartanburg County Republican Party.
The party announced its Dec. 16 dinner is titled "Christmas with Newt!" Former state Republican Party Chairman Katon Dawson will be master of ceremonies for the event.
The evening starts with a private reception with Gingrich for event sponsors at 7 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are $60 each, $90 a couple and $120 for a family.
Gingrich is a possible 2012 Republican presidential contender.
The weekend before the election, he held a jobs rally in Greenville.
South Carolina holds the nation's first-in-the-South presidential primary. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will be in Columbia on Friday on her book tour.
