(AP) -- MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Fruits and vegetables are providing the food for thought at an annual meeting in Myrtle Beach.
The South Carolina Department of Agriculture is hosting the 25th Annual Southeast Vegetable & Fruit Expo beginning Tuesday.
Speakers for the two-day meeting include North Carolina Vegetable Growers Association president Kendall Hill and Charles Wingard, president of the South Carolina Fruit, Vegetable and Specialty Crops Association. South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers and Steve Troxler, his counterpart in North Carolina, are also participating.
Discussion topics include pest management and permits, food safety legislation and managing risk on the farm.
