Horry County police arrested two men in connection with the death of a Little River man on Saturday.
Police were called to B and M Interiors on Highway 17 in Little River around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a man lying in the parking lot. When they arrived they found Johnny Ray Caulder, 51, had died from a severe cut to the neck.
Sunday, police arrested John Lee Monroe Scott, 35, of Loris. They say Scott and Caulder had argued Saturday night while walking home from a friend's house. They say the argument turned physical when Scott elbowed Caulder and left him unconscious in the parking lot of the business. Police say Scott returned to the scene with a knife, cut Caulder's throat, and took his cigarettes.
Scott is charged with murder and armed robbery.
Police also arrested Jeffrey Landacre, 20, of Little River, and charged him with accessory after the fact of a felony (murder) because they say Landacre knew Caulder had been assaulted and did nothing to stop it.
