Firefighters with the Darlington County Fire District are holding a series of boot drives to help raise money to buy Christmas gifts for children in need.

This is the third year firefighters are raising money for the cause. Last year, they collected more than $12,000 in donations for 61 families and bought presents for 147 children.

The firefighters are hoping to raise even more this year.

Their next boot drive is on December 3rd on Highway 151 between Darlington and Hartsville from 8:00am until 5:00pm.

If you're traveling through the area, they ask that you give whatever you can.
