The Florence County Election and Voter Registration Commission is holding a protest hearing concerning the Florence School Board District One election. It's being held at the Florence City-County complex.

Terry Law, Sr. ran for school board seat eight. Terry James ran for seat nine and Thurmond Becote was seeking seat three. The three are protesting the outcome of their races based on findings that Florence School District One zoning had been changed or altered without notification or discussion by the Florence District One board of trustees.

So far, the commission has denied Law's request for a new election. They're in the process of hearing James' protest.
