Many people walked to raise money and awareness in the fight against Alzheimer's disease Saturday morning.
The Alzheimer's Association held it's annual memory walk at Broadway at the Beach.
Many people walked in honor of loved ones who are either fighting the disease or have lost the battle with it.
Dr. Christine Robert's mother suffers from the disease.
She says events like this help in the struggle to cure Alzheimer's, "This is a great event, hopefully more events like this will raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease. And hopefully one day we will have better treatments, medications and hopefully a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Not necessarily for my mother, but for my generation, and my childrens generation."
This year's memory walk was a huge success.
The associations goal was to raise $29,000, they ended up with $41,000.
