During the "Marathon for Meals" Scott Mann, with WAVE 104, is collecting donations for the Community Kitchen and Helping Hand in Myrtle Beach.
Mann plans to stay in a double sized motorcycle trailer at Broadway at the Beach until its completely full with items like canned food, pasta, and personal products.
Community Kitchen serves 300 hot meals a day and Helping Hand has already assisted 20,000 families so far this year.
Mann says the groups don't just help the homeless,"a lot of what the kitchen does and especially what Helping Hand does is help working families who are having trouble making ends meet because of the current situation in the country."
This is the seventh year for the event.
There are several other drop off locations along the Grand strand. They include: Black's Tire, Falk Family Chiropractic and Wellness in Conway, Murrells Inlet Veterinary Hospital, Key to Health in Myrtle Beach, Parkland Clubhouse at Legends Golf and Resort, and Veterans Café on the former Air Force Base.
