(AP) -- HICKORY, N.C. (AP) - Police say they'll discuss new evidence they discovered in the case of a disabled North Carolina girl missing for more than a month.
The Hickory Police Department's briefing Friday afternoon comes a day after investigators said they uncovered the evidence.
Authorities wouldn't say what they had found but gave the evidence to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. Ten-year-old Zahra Baker has been missing since Oct. 9, and authorities think she's dead. Police found her artificial leg and are testing a bone to see if it is hers. Zahra lost her left leg to bone cancer and also uses hearing aids.
Her stepmother, Elisa Baker, has been charged with obstruction of justice.
The girl's father, 33-year-old Adam Baker, has arrested been on charges unrelated to Zahra's disappearance.
