Wednesday night, the first Honor Flight out of Myrtle Beach that took more than 100 World War II veterans to Washington D.C. returned home. They'd been to see their memorial on the National Mall.

A celebration was held at Myrtle Beach International Airport, with around 200 people welcoming the men home from the trip.

The men, many of whom had never seen the memorial, walked through the crowd shaking hands with people who thanked them for their service.

There were plenty of smiles, and even some tears.
