(AP) -- South Carolina's tab for the Boeing Co. plant in North Charleston is growing.
The state's technical college system said Tuesday it will ask the state next month for nearly $3 million to cover training because it doesn't have enough cash to fulfill it's commitments to train workers.
Spokeswoman Kelly Steinhilper with the State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education says the agency can't precisely estimate Boeing training costs.
The board previously has received more than $6 million for the training.
The new request mostly covers equipment and materials.
The request to the state's financial oversight board on Dec. 14 will come as that panel is also asked to cover deficits of $270 million in health and welfare programs.
