(AP) -- South Carolina Gov.-elect Nikki Haley has chosen former U.S. ambassador David Wilkins to run her transition team.

Haley said Monday that she can't move fast enough to fill agency leadership positions.

Wilkins is a former South Carolina House Speaker and was President Bush's appointee as the U.S. ambassador to Canada.

His Republican establishment roles are in marked contrast to Haley, who portrayed herself as an outsider during the election campaign.

She says she's received hundreds of resumes for positions in state government.

Haley also named campaign manager Tim Pearson as the transition's executive director and campaign spokesman Rob Godfrey as her spokesman for the transition.
