Walmart is teaming up with Harvest Hope food bank to help feed the hungry.

Boxes are set up at Walmart stores throughout the Pee Dee for the food drive. The organization asks you to place non-perishable food items in the box to help feed those in need.

The manager of the Lake City Walmart says he's happy to help. "Help the community. Help us help them. Try to give something back, and certainly this time of year, everyone could use a little bit of help," said Al Beckum.

The stores will be collecting donations until 6:00pm Saturday night.

Last year, the Pee Dee branch of Harvest Hope distributed 4.5 million pounds of food.
