Florence County Voter Registration workers are still counting absentee ballots Wednesday afternoon.

Voter Registation Director David Alford says they experienced a minor problem with the machines that read the absentee ballots Tuesday night. A machine wasn't reading the cards. Workers had to manually enter the data for the absentee ballots. They counted votes until 1:30 a.m., then returned Wednesday morning to continue reading the cards.

Alford says he expects to have totals for all the elections in Florence County by at least 2 p.m. Wednesday.

They plan to certify the votes Friday morning.
