(AP) -- Democrat U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn has won a 10th term.

Clyburn on Tuesday beat Republican Jim Pratt and Green Party candidate Nammu Muhammad to head back to Washington.

Clyburn has been the House Majority Whip since 2006 and before that was the leader of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Clyburn raised nearly $3 million, while Pratt raised $23,000.

But the Democrat took no chances, putting up billboards around his district and running TV ads.

Pratt is a sales and marketing director for an outdoor advertising company in Orangeburg making his first run for public office.

The 6th District has a majority of black voters and runs from Columbia to Charleston, including several majority black counties in the eastern part of the state.
