The former Lake City mayor is out of jail on bond after police say they locked him up for drunk driving.

Larue Alford was sentenced in June 2007 for receiving counterfeit money. Alford was one of several former Lake City public officials arrested on corruption charges.

Sunday, a Lake City police officer arrested Alford after the officer said Alford failed a field sobriety test.

The Lake City Police Chief Billy Brown says Alford was on supervised release with the US Department of Probation and Parole. Chief Brown says officials from that office will meet with him Tuesday to discuss Alford's DUI arrest.
