(AP) -- VASS, N.C. (AP) - A pilot has been seriously injured after his small plane crashed in Southern Pines.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the experimental aircraft crashed Sunday afternoon. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
The pilot was the only person on board. His name was not released.
According to the FAA registry, the plane is owned by Keith Cox of Hope Mills. There was no answer at a telephone listing for Cox.
