It's still several months away, but the Coastal South Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross is already looking forward to the annual Bi-Lo Marathon in Myrtle Beach.
The official local charity training team - The Red Cross Rescue Racers - of the marathon and half marathon will hold two public informational meetings for anyone interested in joining their team.
At the meetings, prospective participants learn about the Red Cross's 18-week training program for the marathon and half marathon. Red Cross officials say the training program is for interested participants of varying fitness levels.
The first meeting is Monday night at 6:00 p.m. at the local Red Cross office, 2795 Pampas Drive, on the old Air Force Base in Myrtle Beach. The next meeting is Thursday, October 14 at 6:00 p.m. at the Red Cross office.
