Horry County Coroner Robert Edge tells NewsChannel 15 Malcolm Edward Kinlaw, 29, died Wednesday morning after being shot Tuesday night.

After he was shot, his car hit the guy wire of a power pole and then hit a building on 3rd Avenue in Conway.

He died at the Medical University of South Carolina where he was being treated.

Police originally thought they were responding to a car accident. They arrived at Thompson Supply Company in Conway around 9 p.m. Tuesday, where a car had slammed into the building.

Conway Police say when the car hit the guy wire of a power pole, it snapped and a transformer blew. Power was knocked out along much of Highways 501 and 701 in Conway for about 30 minutes.

No arrest have been made. The Conway Police Investigations Unit is following up on leads in the shooting.
