One person was taken to the hospital after a car hit a building and knocked out power to much of Conway Tuesday night.

It happened just before 9 p.m. on 3rd Avenue in Conway.

Conway Police say the car hit the guy wire of a power pole. That snapped the wire, and a transformer blew. Power was knocked out along much of Highways 501 and 701 in Conway for about 30 minutes.

Police had to direct traffic at the intersections because traffic lights were out.

The car slammed into the Thompson Supply Company building.

Police say the driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
