The S.C. Highway Patrol arrested a 24-year-old man Monday and charged him in connection to a fatal hit-and-run that happened over the weekend.
Terry Bryant, of Georgetown, is charged with leaving the scene of a collision where death results, and he's currently being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
Early Sunday morning, state troopers say Toni Montondo ran a stop sign at the intersection of Exodus Road and Highway 701 in the Yauhannah community of Georgetown County. Montondo then hit a tree, troopers said.
While surveying damage to her car, Montondo was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver.
Troopers said they are still looking for possibly a second vehicle involved in the case.
They say the second vehicle is possibly a General Motors pickup, SUV, or van.
They ask anyone with information to call *HP from a mobile phone.
