South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers released new information Monday about the car they believe was involved in a hit and run in Horry County over the weekend.

Troopers say Toni Montondo ran a stop sign at the intersection of Exodus Drive and Highway 701 around 2:00 Sunday morning. They say she hit a tree and then got out of the car. While she was surveying the damage, the vehicle troopers are looking for, struck and killed her.

Troopers are looking for a 2005-2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, Avalanche, or a full size pickup, according to Highway Patrol spokesman, Sonny Collins. The vehicle will have front left side damage including the headlight, grill, and radiator. They are not sure of the color of the car.

If you have any information about the wreck, you're asked to call 843-661-4700 or *HP(47).
