Demolition crews continued to clear debris from the first building of the former Golden Villa Hotel to make room for a giant sky wheel in Myrtle Beach, Tuesday.
A crew of about 15 spent much of the day clearing the columns that once held the building in place at 1100 Ocean Blvd. The site's supervisor says once the remnants of the first building are cleared out, the second building will come down.
In order to protect people walking by the demolition site, a covered walk way is also being built.
The 190 ft. sky wheel will be the largest ferris wheel east of the Mississippi.
The company has 30 days to turn the property into an empty lot.
