Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people joined in a The Biggest Loser 5K Challenge in Myrtle Beach Saturday.
The NBC show announced months ago it would sponsor a fitness race to inspire people to get healthy and lose weight.
For many who showed up to the race, it was overwhelming.
"I'm feeling proud, I'm feeling good. This is the first time ever. I didn't think I could do it, and I did it," said Pam Ferrill who was crying as she crossed the finish line.
Others, like John Baker, said he became motivated several months ago after he realized he couldn't comfortably walk more than a few hundred yards.
"After that moment, I said enough is enough, and I started walking every day. I've gotten up to walking four miles, and I've lost 50 lbs," Baker said.
The run/walk was followed by a fitness festival in downtown Myrtle Beach.
The Biggest Loser Event Challenge will be featured on an upcoming episode of "The Biggest Loser" on NBC.
