The State Law Enforcement Division arrested a Hemingway Town Hall employee for embezzlement.

SLED says Tammy Nobles, 48, embezzled $15,270 in public funds to pay for personal bills.

Nobles was Hemingway's town clerk. She turned herself into SLED Agents Tuesday.

Hemingway's town administrator, Joe Lee, says Nobles started working for them in October 2007. He said the town auditor recently noticed money missing and the town asked the police department to investigate.

Nobles is on on administrative leave without pay.
