Fatal accident in darlington county

The accident happened Friday morning on Patrick highway just outside Hartsville.

Highway Patrol officials say two cars hit each other head on. According to Darlington county coroner Todd Hardee the victim is 79-year-old Melissa Howle.

The surviving driver, William Griggs, is being held for driving with a suspended license. More charges may follow.

Highway Patrol is investigating.
