(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Rep. Joe Wilson and Democratic opponent Rob Miller have new television ads that take a decidedly negative turn in their race for South Carolina's 2nd District.

Wilson campaign officials say the Republican congressman's ad debuts Wednesday.

In the ad, a somber Wilson introduces a retired two-star Marine general who tells Miller he should return contributions he's taken from the liberal organization MoveOn.org.

Miller's ad hits Wilson's 2005 vote for the Central America Free Trade Agreement, arguing it sent South Carolina jobs to Central America.

Winthrop political science professor Scott Huffmon says Wilson is trying to undercut Miller's military record, while Miller's ad attempts to tie Wilson to an unpopular congressional vote.
