COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- The South Carolina Humanities Council has chosen a college president, an author and a museum director as winners of its annual Governor's Awards.
Executive director Randy Akers said Tuesday the council picked Wofford College's Benjamin Dunlap, author Theodore Rosengarten of McClellanville and University of South Carolina museum executive director Lynn Robertson for the annual awards.
They will be honored at a luncheon Sept. 30 in Columbia.
The awards were established in 1991 and recognize outstanding achievements in humanities research, teaching and scholarship.
The Humanities Council is the state program associated with the National Endowment for the Humanities.
