Highway Patrol says the driver of the 2001 Mercury Marquis ran off the road and crashed into a tree.
Troopers say it happened around 4 a.m. Monday on Highway 261, about 12 miles south of Kingstree.
The driver died from injuries suffered in the accident.
Troopers say he was not wearing a seatbelt.
