CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- The first turtle rehabilitated at the South Carolina Aquarium nearly 10 years ago is doing just fine.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reports the loggerhead turtle named Stinky was nursed back to health and released off Florida in 2001.

The turtle was recaptured in a survey trawl this summer off Georgia. Officials say he's fat, healthy and active.

Stinky got the name from his sick odor when he was originally rescued in Port Royal Sound.

He's only the second turtle treated at the Charleston aquarium to be recaptured and released. It's rare to recapture a male turtle because they spend their lives at sea.
