(AP) -- LITTLE RIVER, S.C. (AP) - A retired Army Air Corps sergeant will be presented a Bronze Star in South Carolina for his service during World War II.
The award ceremony for 87-year-old Frank Dunlap will be held Sunday afternoon at the VFW in Little River, just north of Myrtle Beach along the coast.
The Bronze Star is the Army's fourth-highest award for combat valor and is awarded for gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States during military operations.
The Army said in a news release Saturday that Dunlap is a survivor of the Bataan death march and was a Japanese prisoner of war for more than three years.
