Surfers packed the beach in Surfside Beach Sunday for a good cause. The eleventh annual Guy Daniels Memorial Surf-off continued Sunday in conjunction with the town's Ocean Expo.
While there was a lot of surfing, there was a lot of just hanging out, young and old. The family of Guy Daniels started the the surf-off eleven years ago, after Guy died while running on the beach.
He was an avid surfer and promoter of the environment. The money raised goes toward scholarships for needy high school seniors in Georgetown and Horry Counties.
Since the the surf-off began 11 years ago, the group has raised close to $150,000.
