Fundraiser at Pelicans game to help caregivers
A foundation that helps families or caregivers of children who are terminally ill or physically challenged held its first fundraiser Thursday night.
The Sharing Precious Memories Foundation gives the families vacations at Grand Strand Properties managed by SPM Resorts.
Thursday's fundraiser was a raffle at the Pelicans game to raise money for amenities and activities for the families who come to Myrtle Beach.
Gina Olivetti with the organization says, "Our families are very stressed with the everyday care of their sick child. Their medical bills are outrageous and some of them don't even think about going on vacation. So what we do is provide respite--a relaxing and enjoying time for the family because it could be the their last vacation together.
The winner of Thursday night's raffle will receive a one week vacation to Orlando.
