The World Health Organization says the swine flu pandemic is over, but the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control isn't sure how many cases occurred in South Carolina.
The outbreak started in April 2009, which according to DHEC, is about the time it got to South Carolina.
We don't know how many cases there were in South Carolina because DHEC stopped keeping count. It said many people who came down with the swine flu weren't going to the doctor. Those who did, often weren't tested.
Last week, the WHO said at least 18,000 people had died worldwide since the outbreak started.
WHO says the world is now moving into the "post-pandemic" phase.
