The Boardwalk Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach was robbed Monday evening.
Around 10:00 Monday evening, a man robbed the clerk at the Boardwalk Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach. This is the third Myrtle Beach hotel clerk robbed in the past week.
In the Boardwalk Beach Resort robbery, one of the clerks was working the front desk when she heard the front door bell ring. According to the police report, the clerk noticed the man was wearing a black glove and she thought about the recent poster of the armed robber that she had seen. The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has circulated a picture of a suspect in the other recent robberies to hoteliers in the area.
The man asked if he could get a room and the clerk told police when she started to back up, the man pulled out an "uzi" looking gun and ordered her to give him money.
The clerk handed the man the money and was told to get on the floor. A second clerk walked into the front area, and the man ordered her onto the floor as well. The man then left the hotel.
The hotel workers gave varying descriptions of what the man was wearing - either a blue or white shirt with a ball cap. The man is also described as black, slender, in his late 20's to 30's. He may have had a moustache.
The amount of money taken by the man was not released.
In addition to the three hotel clerk robberies, a check cashing store clerk was robbed last month. Police are investigating whether the robberies are connected.
