(AP) -- GEORGETOWN, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina officials are holding their first in a series of four seminars on alligator hunting.

The state Department of Natural Resources is hosting an informational meeting on Saturday at Horry-Georgetown Technical College in Georgetown.

Organizers plan to talk about topics like techniques for capturing and handling alligators, rules and regulations and hunting equipment.

Other seminars are planned for later in the month in Berkeley, Lexington and Spartanburg counties. South Carolina's month-long alligator hunting season opens Sept. 11.
