The family of a man run over by a truck on the beach is suing the City of Myrtle Beach, the truck driver, and a beach service company.

Erik Rabon suffered back injuries in May when he was run over by a pickup owned by Huggins Beach Service.

The suit claims the company and city were negligent.

The suit doesn't ask for specific damages.

It was filed by Rabon's brother, Adam, who is Erik's legal guardian.

Erik Rabon remains at Grand Strand Regional Medical center in stable condition.

Police charged the truck driver with careless operation.

The accident lead the Myrtle Beach Beach Advisory Committee to come up with recommendations for improving safety on the beach.
