CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Dozens of people were evacuated from a South Carolina shopping plaza and officials suspect refrigerant leaking from an air conditioner caused the problem.

Several media outlets reported no one was hospitalized after a Kmart store and Sears parts store were evacuated in suburban Charleston on Thursday.

Customers and employees left the store when a fog filled part of the building. Initially the fog was reported to be smoke and firefighters responded.

Fire officials now think leaking refrigerant caused the problem.

Several people were treated at the scene after complaining of headaches, dizziness and tingly skin.
