WALHALLA, S.C. (AP) -- A South Carolina man is expected to spent three months on house arrest after pleading guilty to shooting another man while the pair hunted for hogs.
Solicitor Chrissy Adams says Earl Dean Jordan pleaded guilty in Oconee County on Thursday to negligent discharge of a firearm while hunting causing a death.
A three year prison sentence was suspended to 90 days house arrest and two years probation.
Authorities say Jordan and 28-year-old Adam Becker of Walhalla were hunting in March 2009 when Becker was shot in the abdomen with a shotgun and bled to death.
Jordan told authorities he heard movement in the woods and fired.
