The State Law Enforcement Division says the AMBER alert for a missing 4-month-old from Monroe, NC has been cancelled. The baby has been found and the suspect arrested.
About 10:30pm, SLED said the suspect's car was found in Pageland, SC, and he ran into the woods. At the time, there was no sign of the infant. The baby was kidnapped Tuesday morning.
SLED issued an Amber Alert for 4-month old Jaleel Xamir Howard.
Police say he was taken from his mother in a doctor's office parking lot Tuesday morning in Monroe, NC.
The suspect in this case is Lonnie Cecil Buchanan, 41.
Police say Buchanan is not the child's father, but had some sort of relationship with the child's mother. They say there was a physical altercation as the mother tried to keep Buchanan from taking her son.
